Ministries
Involvement of church members varies greatly, and the extent to which you become involved is your decision alone. Most of all, we want you to feel at home in our church – your church – and we respect your decision to simply worship quietly on Sunday if that is your desire. If you are interested in sharing your time and talent, or in participating in any of the many social activities for you and your family, there is ample opportunity. Some of the opportunities are: working on the annual barbecue, participating in work parties, teaching church school, serving on committees, joining the Altar Guild, choir, ECW or any of the many other organizations. This is a great way to grow, to share in the loving spirit here at Holy Trinity, to meet other church members and, in effect, extend your own family. Social activities are planned, ranging from trips to minor and major league baseball games to potluck suppers, game nights, hayrides, and bowling activities. We welcome your ideas, too.
There is an active youth group that not only provides help at such church events as the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper and the chicken barbecue, but plans dances, ski trips, outings to Great Adventure, ands a number of other activities. We try hard to extend warm greeting to everyone visiting Holy Trinity. Growth in the last two years has been robust, however, so many in the congregation are new members and may not yet be able to recognize who might be visiting for the first time. Rest assured, however, that we appreciate your presence here and will do our best to make you feel a part of our family. Make sure you sign your name in the visitor book or fill in one of the welcome cards. Greeters are assigned to help make your visit enjoyable.
ECW (Episcopal Church Women)Members meet on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. to share fellowship and to support church work. Activities have included bus trips, a variety of guest speakers and programs and fund-raising events. The ECW has long sponsored an annual luncheon and Bingo party for members of the Cedars Boarding Home in Deptford and sponsors outreach projects such as Blanket Sunday, UTO (united thank offering), and Tools for Hope. Among the more popular fund-raising events is the annual Election Day vegetable soup sale. Money raised is used to provide scholarships for youth activities and also to help with projects around the church. All women in the church are invited to participate in the organization. For more information, please contact Greta Brown (president) at 856-468-2929.
EYC (Episcopal Young Churchpeople)EYC is the youth group at Holy Trinity, open to young people in grades 6-12. The group meets once a month for a social activity. Members also participate in regional and diocesan programs as announced. All young people are invited to attend any of the programs offered.
Inreach / OutreachHoly Trinity is continually seeking ways to provide help to those in need both inside and outside of the church. Regular external ministries include the monthly Eucharist service, with music, held at the Manor Care in West Deptford. In addition, we participate in a number of outreach projects during the year, among them the collection of greeting card fronts for St. Jude’s Ranch. We believe that Christ calls all of us to serve others, and we are always seeking new ways to minister in His name. Our church facility also serves as a meeting place for the A.A. as well as for local scout organizations, Literacy Volunteers, and other organizations. We also welcome other groups in need of accommodations. As a big extended family, we welcome opportunities to comfort and support those within the church that need our help as well. A group of “compassionate inreachers” was formed to provide dinners on a short-term basis for those who were incapacitated. Lists of the sick published in church bulletins alert us about those who need our prayers, cards, and calls. In addition, a group of parishioners has recently established a prayer chain.

Men's BreakfastA group of men meet between the two Sunday services on the first Sunday of each month (except during the summer). In addition to socializing, the group is able to apply modest profits towards a variety of church projects and programs. Volunteers cook on a rotating basis and attendees are not required to spend time in the kitchen. The cost is a modest $5.00 for adults. On the first Sunday in May, the group sponsors an all-church breakfast/brunch. For more information, please call Claude Kennard at (865) 468-1284.
