Songs from the Pit: A Study of Death & Dying

Songs from the Pit: A Study in Death & Dying

Sundays at 9 AM during Lent in the Parish Hall

Starts March 10; Continues to April 7

Lent is a season of reflection, preparation, and remembering our mortality. It begins on Ash Wednesday with the reminder: “You are dust and to dust you shall return.” In our modern world, we rarely have the opportunity to talk candidly about death and dying. We have pushed it away from our lived experience, and we rarely have to encounter it until its breaks into our lives.

In this five-week study, we will look at a biblical and Christian understanding of death. From our theology around death, the biblical tradition, to the more practical aspects of funeral preparation and will-making, this course in death and dying is meant to be a safe place to ask the hard questions under less stressful and emotional circumstances. We hope you’ll join us!
